These Hotels Are Decking Their Halls-And Rooms And Rooftops-With Incredible Holiday Decor

Hotels often get into the holiday season, as their lobbies, guestrooms and rooftops get adorned with themed decor. From festive popups, to tree trimmings with all fixings, here’s a sampling of hotels decked out for Christmastime.

Omni Berkshire Place’s FAO Schwarz Suite

For their Holiday Wishes FAO Suite, Omni Berkshire Place partnered with FAO Schwarz, the iconic New York City’s toy store. This FAO Suite Stay and Play Package at the New York City property takes over the two-bedroom Emerson Suite with an impressive selection of toys, curated by the personal shoppers at FAO Schwarz. They include a piano dance mat, a ride-on train with tracks and various plush animals. Guests can opt to purchase a toy to take home with them at the end of their stay. An FAO Schwarz Toy Soldier will escort them to the toy store at Rockefeller Center and provide a private tour.

The Nutcracker Bar & Hotel at Selina Chicago

This holiday season, Selina Chicago has been temporarily renamed and redecorated as The Nutcracker Bar & Hotel until the New Year. This festive pop up inside Selina Chicago is being promoted as providing a journey to Christmas past with timeless festive décor, holiday music, Christmas craft cocktails and holiday fun. After a festive night, guests can rest their heads in one of the property’s hotel rooms.

Omni Dallas Hotel’s Santa Suite

Available until January 2, 2023, Omni Dallas Hotel’s Santa’s Suite has made its debut this holiday season. Elegantly decorated, this “presidential” Santa’s Suite will greet Christmas morning for children of all ages with a seasonally special package. It includes a welcome amenity of sweet treats, crafts for the kids (or kids at heart), a hot cocoa station as a turndown amenity, $400 hotel credit, and two bedrooms.

The Broadmoor’s Annual Gingerbread Display

This Colorado Springs resort puts on an annual gingerbread display, and the 2022 edition has been parked within the main building mezzanine. Instead of a traditional gingerbread house or building, this year’s display is a vintage car made of gingerbread and chocolate. Learn more about The Broadmoor’s holiday offerings here.

This year’s life-sized gingerbread display drew inspiration from The Broadmoor’s founder Spencer Penrose and his 1937 Flathead V-8 Cadillac Touring Car. The real-life car served two purposes: transporting Broadmoor guests to and from the hotel and sightseeing excursions. This 2022 gingery version will remain parked at the resort now through New Year’s Day.

The Omni Grove Park Inn’s National Gingerbread House Competition

Marking its 30th year in 2022, The Omni Grove Park Inn presents their annual National Gingerbread House Competition with 219 entrees within the contest’s Adult, Teen, Youth and Child categories. They were up for a chance to win a piece of more than $40,000 in cash and prizes. The Omni Grove Park Inn is displaying all gingerbread creations in-person throughout the resort now January 2, 2023. All Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for registered resort guests and those that have confirmed dining reservations. While the public can view the display anytime Monday- through Thursday and after 6 p.m. on Sundays, excluding December 23 through 25 and 30-31 and January 1.

Not to be undone, The Great Hall at The Omni Grove Park Inn has introduced a life-sized gingerbread house modeled after the historic hotel, with thousands of twinkly lights and over 80 illuminated trees throughout the resort.

Deer Path Inn’s Nostalgic Toy Suite Package

This boutique hotel in Lake Forest, Ill. has a Nostalgic Toy Suite package that is made to reinvigorate the nostalgia of a childhood Christmas morning. The package involves an over-the-top accommodation overflowing with a selection of nostalgic vintage toys including a large floor piano that’s reminiscent of the film, Big, Care Bears, Lite-Brites, Rubik’s Cubes, vintage toy cars, Etch A Sketches, and Tamagotchis. After their stay ends, guests can opt to purchase a toy from the suite, which will be donated to Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center.

The Peninsula New York’s Chalet de Ning

St. Moritz and Badrutt’s Palace Hotel have partnered with The Peninsula New York to launch Chalet de Ning, a Swiss-inspired rooftop experience replacing the winter glitz of this Swiss Alpine resort town. Open now until December 31, 2022, this pop-up at The Peninsula New York emulates an après ski evening at Paradiso, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel’s 10^th and newest restaurant and mountain club.

The decor of this rooftop winter lounge reflects a chic ski lodge in St. Moritz, with vintage posters and ski equipment and Swiss Alp essentials such as snow shoes and iconic cow bells. A special menu by Badrutt’s Palace Hotel’s food and beverage team incorporates Alpine-inspired delicacies ranging from Truffle Fondue with Gruyère, Fresh Truffle, Kirsch and Sourdough, to Swiss Chocolate Fondue. Chalet de Ning is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight. Reservations for groups of eight or more can be made via email at [email protected].
