Travelers looking for a great outdoor vacation look to the tree house, a source of nostalgic comfort and loneliness.
But these are not their childhood tree houses. Like travelers booking them, tree houses are also mature.
A modern tree house is more luxurious than a kid’s hangout — at a comparable price. Tree houses built by professionals can easily cost six digits.

One such treehouse is Chez’Tree Rest Treehouse in northern New York, accessible from a 60-foot pedestrian bridge that begins with a heart-shaped gate. Another 30-foot-long cable bridge connects the tree house to another relaxation deck.
Owner Tom Wallace will explain the construction of the tree house on a video tour of the tree house and will also provide tips for a comfortable stay.

According to Tree Top Builders, a custom builder based in Exton, Pennsylvania, children’s tree houses should be 6 to 12 feet high and railings at least 36 inches high. These heights also assume that a root cover or piece of wood is placed under the tree house to mitigate potential falls.
Treehouses built for large numbers of people are not bound by these standards, as evidenced by the three-story Punta Jaguar Jungle Treehouse in Matapalo, Costa Rica.

What is missing from the walls of the house is stylishly constructed. The sink and faucet are made of seashells, and the separate ground floor bungalows feature colorful swivel windows and an electric drawbridge-style drop-down deck. According to the website, it has a private pass to the caretaker and the beach. It is recommended that you be at least 7 years old.

Thrill-seekers can sleep in the Amazon rainforest at the Amazon Eco Lodge in Incatera Reservoir, Peru. The lodge’s only arboreal house is more than 70 feet above the rainforest floor at the end of a series of seven suspension bridges.
The program starts at $ 492 for a two night stay and adds $ 660 to sleep in a tree house.

This is evident at the Treeful Treehouse Sustainable Resort in Okinawa, Japan. All bookings include two tree houses: a rustic spiral tree house with a hammock and yoga mat, and a luxurious aero house with the look and feel of a 5-star hotel suite. According to the website, its soothing and sophisticated decoration provides the comfort of creatures such as espresso machines and wine cellars.
The tree house resort is open in less than a month. Currently, guests can book a two-night stay — no more or less — all travelers must be at least 10 years old.

The price is 100,000 yen ($ 905) per night for 3 people. The fourth person has an additional charge of $ 225 per night. Bookings are currently 33% off regular rates.

The food and the tree house used to rarely mesh, but the tree house now has a full kitchen with a Nespresso coffee machine and a kitchen island.

The two-bedroom Trinity Tree House near Atlanta has a kitchen where travelers may envy their home as well as their own garden. Three large windows expand the space, with an L-shaped countertop, a wine rack, and a breakfast counter for coffee and simple meals. According to the list on the website, the decorative backsplash is on top of a kitchen cabinet made by the host’s woodworking shop.
The Trinity Tree House is next to hiking and cycling trails on 2,500 acres of Georgia’s Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Reserve.

Ability to stir your imagination
Luxury tree houses don’t have to be that serious — that’s the purpose of the log shed. The distinction between a tree house and a house on a hill in the woods is that the latter is capricious and devoted to childlike fun.
To enter one tropical tree house on the Big Island, guests climb a ladder to a trap door that opens upstairs. Bags and suitcases take different routes. They are lifted via the pulley system.
