    East Bay candy factory sells its property to big real estate investor

    HAYWARD — A candy manufacturer that was founded 70 years ago by a Russian immigrant has sold its Hayward headquarters and factory property to a New York investment group, public records show. Annabelle Candy Co. has sold several parcels in Hayward, including the site of its factory and head offices, to an affiliate led by Fortress Investment Group, an investment firm with a global reach. Fortress Investment, acting through affiliate CREF3 Industrial Blvd Owner, paid Annabelle Candy Co. $13 million for the property, according to documents filed on Dec. 20 with the Alameda County Recorder’s Office.     Big Oakland redevelopment site lands Amazon-linked real estate buyer

    OAKLAND — A one-time glass factory site in Oakland that is headed for the wrecking ball and redevelopment has been grabbed by a veteran real estate company that has proposed a revamp for the property. Duke Realty is planning a major development of the property in Oakland’s Fruitvale district through the demolition and replacement of the former Owens-Brockway glass manufacturing plant, according to documents on file with city planners.     S.F.’s real estate market is an outlier in one big way, according to latest Zillow data

    Unlike the rest of the country, Bay Area home buyers are seeing more options on the market compared with last year — but those houses are more expensive than ever and buyers are snapping them up within days, according to a new report. The latest monthly market report from real estate listing website Zillow showed San Francisco’s housing inventory in May went up 8.7% from April, and 25.6% from this time last year. The other large Bay Area city listed in the report, San Jose, saw an inventory increase of 8% from April and an increase of 30.3% year-over-year.
